It’s that time of the year again when we ask lake residents and their guests to please be considerate of all lake property owners. After just one holiday weekend, complaints have been made regarding loud music being played outside late into the night/early morning. Keep in mind that not only next-door neighbors and those just a few houses away are affected, but because of the way sound travels on water, those who live across the lake are affected as well.
The other common complaint associated with the loud music is the profanity-laced and vulgar lyrics in some of the music being blasted over speakers and karaoke machines. There are families with young children and others with grandchildren spending time at the lake. They shouldn’t have to be concerned about hearing this type of music during any time of the day or night when they are out playing on the beach or enjoying a campfire. And on a nice night, they should be able to sleep with their windows open.
Let’s just all respect and enjoy our neighbors.

Nice reminder. I hope the people that are loud and use vulgar language read this.
I would also ask lake residents to be mindful of what they are putting in the lake. This marks my 17th season on the lake and I have never had to clean up so much plastic trash from my beach as I have this year. Cans and bottles are clearly visible on the lake bottom, thanks to our clear water. Plastic residuals from fireworks are a constant source of trash on the beaches. Please be considerate of your neighbors and the lake and do your best to avoid littering our lake with plastics.
Sincerely,
Daniel Tom
