Now that more leaves are on the ground than on the tree, remember a burn permit is required for burning dry leaves, brush, clean paper, cardboard and untreated lumber.
Keep in mind burning of refuse, household or commercial waste or garbage is not permitted.
Permits can be obtained from the Howard Township Office on Barron Lake Road or the fire department station, also on Barron Lake Road.
