Cass County residents can dispose of hazardous waste and used tires for free on Wednesday, April 23, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Cass County Road Commission, 340 N. O’Keefe St., in Cassopolis. Proof of residency in Cass County will be required.
County residents may drop off used tires from cars and pick-up trucks, as well as solid waste materials ranging from chemicals to electronics.
Those getting rid of hazardous waste may drop off up to 300 pounds per vehicle. After 300 pounds, there will be a charge of $1.74 per pound. Small appliances, electronics, metal items and steel will be accepted at no charge.
