Please note this is a synopsis of the last board meeting of the 2024 season. Minutes will be presented for approval at the first meeting of 2025.
*The board thanked Marcia Hummel for all her work on the Corn and Sausage roast in August. Marcia thanked her committee members for all they did, as well as Bruno Eidietis for the use of his land for the event. 165 people attended. $3,000 was budgeted for the event. The final cost was just under $1,500.
* Melissa DiSimone, Executive Director of Michigan Lakes and Streams Association, spoke about what her association is doing to keep lakes healthy and clean for future generations. She also spoke about pending legislation regarding the use of wake boats, keeping lakes free of aquatic invasive species, short-term rentals on lakes, placement of piers, among other topics.
*A motion was made to raise the dues to $50 and was approved by a show of hands of those residents in attendance at the meeting.
*Upon adjournment of the regular meeting, the special meeting for election was called to order. The election results are as follows: President: Rick Marneris, Vice President: Tom Hable, Secretary: Debbie Floor, Treasurer: Jim Muckerheide, and Director at Large: Bill Newhouse.
