The City of Niles in conjunction with local restaurants and other businesses is offering a unique outdoor dining experience during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Order takeout food and drinks from participating restaurants and dine outside at Second and Main Streets. A fire pit will be lit from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. weekdays. Weekend hours may vary.
The experience includes a roaring fire, picnic tables and windbreaks. There also is an indoor public restroom available. Alcoholic beverages are allowed to be consumed in the area if they are purchased from a licensed downtown establishment.
It is expected social distancing will be practiced and masks are required to dine in the area but can be removed while eating. Plus, the area is pet friendly. Pet owners are asked, though, to clean up after their furry friends.
Participating establishments include Brew Hah Ha Cafe, CJ’s Pizza and Subs, Katharos Catering, The Brass Eye, Iron Shoe Distillery, Gabrizio Italian Cafe, Ginny’s Place, Healthy Habits, Jim’s Smokin’ Cafe @ Paris Soda Co., Veni’s Sweet Shop, Nugget Downtown Grill, Apothica Teas, El Amigo Pepe, and Front Street Pizza Pub.
