What's New|

The weed inspection has been completed. Treatment is being decided, but a date has not been set yet. See the report here.

The water is finally warming up and breaking that 60 degree range so the lake is starting to turn over. What this means is you may see some green film and algae blooms. It is not from treating the weeds, because we haven’t, it is not from running the well all spring, it is just a natural occurrence that happens every year.

The lake level sensor is officially up and running. Anyone can go to tolthawk.com, click on the sign in, the next screen will give you a choice of lakes, so click on Barron. The next screen just shows Barron, click on that, and all the information is there. Click on the green button on right so you can slide over the different dates at the bottom and compare over time.

The lake level on May 28 is at 756.12. As we all know, we can pump up to 756.50. Those who see water going into the drain pipe by the boat ramp should know that water is not just draining because the lake level is up. Inside that drain pipe is a wall for lack of better terms, that will not let water go out until the lake height exceeds 756.50. It is still in place, and is still accurate as I and a couple of other people have gone in the sewer and physically checked it. Also, if anyone wants they can check the side of the drain pipe by the boat ramp. There are 3 cuts in the concrete. The middle cut is 756.50, and as of today the water was 2-3″ below that cut. Now that isn’t as accurate as going to Tolthawk on line, which is what we are going to rely on for better accuracy, but it can show a quick snapshot of what is going on.
