As winter has returned and most of our neighbors have moved on to their winter homes or the sunny South, life is much quieter around the lake.
November was a good month for rainfall, and we have managed to keep the old pump running so the lake level is within reason for this time of the year. After years of planning, dealing with Michigan bureaucracy and finally COVID, it appears the new pump station will be operational very soon. This has been an amazing effort by a core group of dedicated people. By next summer the lake level should remain far more regulated than we have seen in past years.
Working with consultants and applicators, Tom Hable has been able to keep weeds under control while decreasing the cost assessed on our tax bills.
Maintaining the quality of the lake has been a team effort and I am very grateful for all the people that have contributed to this effort. I wish all of you a safe and happy holiday and a great New Year
