News from the Township
The Howard Charter Township Board approved a resolution on April 21, 2026, to increase monthly sewer rates to $37.03 (an increase of $6.17). The new rate is expected to go into effect with the May 2026 billing. This is only for Howard Township residents who are connected to the sewer system.
The petitions that were being circulated regarding whether Howard Township should remain as a charter township or revert to being a general township were turned in to the township at the April 21 meeting. A resident presented petitions bearing more than 500 signatures. Those petitions are now being examined by the clerk’s office to determine if this question can be placed on the upcoming election ballot.
